This annual event sponsored by the Women’s Council for the Leon Hess Cancer Center at Monmouth features a luncheon, silent auction, chance raffle and noted keynote speakers who have included two-time Oscar-nominee Lynn Redgrave, a breast cancer survivor, and Mehmet C. Oz, M.D., the Irving Associate Professor of Cardiac Surgery at Columbia University who is a founder of the Complementary Medicine Program at New York Presbyterian Medical Center. A regular guest on Oprah, Dr. Oz is the author of the award-winning books “Healing from the Heart,” and “YOU: The Owner’s Manual: An Insider’s Guide to the Body That Will Make You Healthier and Younger.”
In 2009, the Power of Pink luncheon will feature a keynote address by Andrea Jung, one of America's iconic business leaders. Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Avon Products, Inc., she was promoted to the position in November 1999. Before her election to the position, she served as President and Chief Operating Officer over all business units of Avon worldwide.
The mission of the Women’s Council is to provide an informative and thought-provoking lecture series to foster an understanding of the many options women have to make healthy changes in their lives.
